A bold and seductive reinterpretation of classic Cantonese dining, MIMI Chinese brings theatrical flair and rich cultural detail to Miami Beach.

Located in the former Sushi Fly Chicken space, this over 4,000-square-foot renovation completely reimagined the existing layout. Guests enter through a discreet and understated front door, only to be transported into an immersive world of dim lighting and touches of red everywhere. The focal point of the space is the bar. The space is intentionally designed without windows, to keep the focus on food and fragrance. The aim is for guests to be temporarily transported into a culinary performance.  Designed by Miami-based interior design firm Iron & Ivory, the space blends cinematic flair with modern luxury.

FORMGROUP led the architectural transformation, partnering closely with the design team to bring the vision to life. The biggest challenge: adapting the existing mechanical and plumbing systems to fit the entirely new layout all while preserving ceiling height and spatial flow. Through detailed coordination and smart design solutions, FORMGROUP delivered a seamless integration of form and function.

MIMI’s menu celebrates regional Chinese flavors with standout dishes like the Four-Foot Belt Noodle, Hidden Crispy Chicken, and Black Pepper Ribeye, each crafted to be shared. The result is a dining experience that surprises at every turn, both in flavor and design.

Opening in late 2024, MIMI Chinese Miami Beach is a masterclass in reinvention, and a striking example of FORMGROUP’s ability to transform spaces into immersive destinations.
