TOKU Aventura is the long awaited South Florida expansion by the Poll Brothers Restaurants of their Asian concept from Long Island.

They took over a 13,000sf former restaurant space and transformed it into a spectacular showplace of design and culinary excellence.  Opened in June 2023, it has quickly become one of the most popular venues in the area and with an extensive outdoor dining terrace, it will likely become the place to be in the cooler winter months.

 

With interior design by the renowned ROCKWELL Group, the restaurant includes a spacious bar, main dining room, and outdoor dining terrace that recall the serenity and coolness of a traditional Japanese dining hall.  An entry sequence brings visitors through a temple-like portico through a traditional hall to a Tokonama or recess in a Japanese entry hall for the display of art pieces.  In this case, the art piece is the luxurious bar viewed through a carved screen.  Large walnut portals transition the visitor through the spaces arriving at the voluminous dining hall with it's vaulted mirrored ceiling and grand Buddha Head overseeing all.  Monumental trellis structures, stone walls and traditional lanterns give one the impression of dining in a temple courtyard.

Of course, like most restaurants, the mechanical components of the space where controlled and designed to allow the architecture to truly read through.

Opened in early 2021, the location is quickly becoming a local hot spot.
